Where to Buy Ippodo Matcha Outside Japan (2026)
Ippodo sells through a Japan Global Online Shop and a separate US online store. Here is what each one offers, what was in stock on 10 October 2026, and how to get notified when your grade comes back.
⚠️ Important: Check Both Stores
Ippodo's Japan store and US store maintain separate inventory. When the US store shows "Out of Stock," the Japan international store may still have stock — and vice versa. Check both before giving up, because the two storefronts can show different availability.
Where Can You Buy Ippodo Matcha in 2026?
Ippodo Global Online Shop (Japan)
global.ippodo-tea.co.jp
Prices in yen after the 1 October 2026 increase. Duties and taxes are charged by your country. For the US, DHL shipments are no longer exempt from duties under the end of de minimis.
Ippodo US Online Store

Its matcha range includes grades such as Seiun and Premium Select that do not appear on the Japan store list. Prices and stock change, so check each product page.
What Is In Stock Right Now?
On 10 October 2026 every one of the 15 matcha products on the Japan Global Online Shop, from Hatsu-mukashi (¥800) to Kanza (¥15,000), was listed as out of stock. We do not publish per-grade availability rankings or restock frequencies, because Ippodo does not. Its own notice says each matcha is available in limited quantity each day, that the amount per purchase is limited, and that sold-out items may be available on another day. Our Ippodo stock tracker has the grade list and prices.
How to Buy Ippodo From Japan to Your Country
Direct Japan Shipping — Step by Step
- Go to global.ippodo-tea.co.jp — this is the international-facing Japan store with English language support and international shipping rates.
- Create an account. Save your shipping address and payment method in advance so checkout is fast when a rare grade restocks.
- Search for your grade. If it's in stock, add to cart immediately — do not browse first.
- Select your shipping option. Shipping is by DHL, and Ippodo raised its DHL rates on 1 October 2026, so check the fee at checkout (see our shipping-rate note).
- Check import duty requirements for your country. Duties, taxes and customs fees are charged by your country and are not included in Ippodo's prices.
Avoiding Counterfeit or Stale Ippodo
Prefer Ippodo's official websites. Third-party marketplaces (Amazon, eBay) occasionally list Ippodo products, but you cannot verify freshness, authenticity, or storage conditions. Given that Ippodo matcha is best used within a few months, the provenance chain matters.
Compare any third-party price with Ippodo's own price list, and remember that marketplace listings can add import duties on delivery.
The Smarter Strategy: Alerts + Multiple Sources
The most reliable approach for consistently securing premium Ippodo grades is:
- Set up stock alerts for your target grades across both the Japan and US stores — whichever lists stock first triggers your notification.
- Pre-create accounts at both global.ippodo-tea.co.jp and ippodotea.com so checkout is quick.
- Alert for fallback grades — if Ummon no Mukashi sells out before you complete checkout, you will have a notification ready for another grade as a backup.
- Alert for alternatives from other Uji houses such as Marukyu Koyamaen and Horii Shichimeien — when all Ippodo grades are simultaneously out of stock (as on 10 October 2026), having alerts on comparable Uji producers means you are never completely without options.
