The Story of Yugen
Yugen Kyoto is an independent tea shop that opened in 2018 in a renovated building near the Kyoto Imperial Palace, with a ground-floor shop and a tea room and craft gallery above. Its own story page presents it as a small modern tea shop rather than a centuries-old Uji house. Despite the similar name it has no connection to Marukyu Koyamaen, whose "Yugen" is a matcha grade from a different company.
